With a new trend focusing on the interior designing, people have become more cautious and enthusiastic about the décor that their home adorns. Well, it is a very common perception that one’s home is actually a reflection of one’s personality and everybody would want to put forth the best aspect of their personality in front of the onlooker.
Even if you room looks utterly ridiculous and old fashioned, here are a few simple ways in which you can restore back the charm:
- One of the most influential ways to bring back the fire is to start by working up the walls. It can either be in the form of fabrics or wallpaper. It is entirely your choice to use contrasting wallpapers or go for lighter colors, but in the case of fabrics make sure that it is of great tactile quality otherwise the entire effort may go unnoticed.
- Another way to polish your room is to incorporate a mixture of lights sources. One can start with overhead lighting and then go in for table lamps or floor lamps. A very innovative idea would be to install lights inside the cabinet which would give you the much wanted vibrance inside the room. If you can manage heavy electric work, then having a chandelier or flush lights would be worth the trouble.
- There are a lot of fake items being introduced into the world of interior decoration. One of them is the highly creative ornate moldings made of resin. Well, some of you might think that these moldings might not accentuate a modern space but you are bound to find something that goes well with your style. Although these moldings appear to be made of carved wood but actually prepared from a mixture of plastic and wood material which is more durable than the common wood holdings. Hand these on a wall and display some objects on them, you could find them irresistible and worth the pain.
- Now days, collecting or displaying pieces of antiques doesn’t only remain in the domain of rich. People of all income groups can start with small objects and eventually move up to expensive stuff. Budget friendly items include pieces of old garden tools, silver racks, stacks of silken pillows and other old and engrossing engravings. These antiques when displayed in proper nooks or corners are the best items that enhance a visual look to your space.
The simple ideas mentioned above would definitely be helpful on giving a new dimension to your private space. But in the end what matters is that your room should be well maintained even if it is not that stylish. After all, ‘All that glitters is not always gold’. A simple and sober home is what appeals to every heart.
