Every body wants that their home should look bigger because a large and spacious home always gives you a grand feeling. If you cannot physically make your home bigger then all you need to do is to make it visually look larger. Many people don’t want to live in places that gives them a claustrophobic feeling so its’ better to redecorate and design your home than sit back and grumble about it. With a few arrangements and settings you can give your home a new and refreshing look.

Here are some simple and inexpensive ways of redecorating your home:

  1. First of all start with the painting work. It has been found out that darker colors give homes a close look while light and pastel colors add more space to a room. So start by repainting your house with light shades to give it a “feel-big” look.
  2. While it is generally presumed that a white ceiling will open up the space in your room, many people are of the opinion that it is good to add some texture to the ceilings. Metallic textures are in, and they not only increase the beauty of the ceiling but also give your room a lot of height.
  3. Another method to visually increase the space is to use big mirrors. Intelligent placement of mirrors makes a room look bigger by reflecting the image on the opposite side thereby adding depth to the room. Mirrors also increase the brightness of the room by bouncing-off and scattering light in the room.
  4. It is also important to note that gardens can introduce grandness to the entire house. Just plant a few simple trees and flowers in your home and you will find that your house not only looks bigger but also seems more appealing and inviting.
  5. It is always good to space things out. Try to clear the clutter in your place by throwing the things which you don’t need (hoarding useless items make no sense). For example you can clear some of the decorative items (those that are old and not attractive) present in your living room thus giving it a spacious and neat look.
  6. In order to make the bathrooms look larger you can introduce fluorescent lighting and use matching hand towels, shower and tub fixtures. If your budget permits, try replacing the old flooring with a new and stylish one.
  7. Lastly introduce right amount of light in your room to make it look spacious and larger. A brightly lit room always appears spacious, tidy and cheerful as compared to dark, dingy room. Make sure that you use the right combination of lighting to add drama and style in the room.

Thus by using the simple tricks mentioned above you can make your home look visually larger and it might give your home a look which you wouldn’t have even thought of!
