Good Plants for Home Gardening

Well gardens are an extension of your home and their beautification would definitely make your home much more appealing and inviting. Plants add color and vibrance to the garden and the herbs can also be used for aesthetic purpose as well as cooking. Many plants are easy to grow and don’t require much maintenance, so you can have a sweet and simple garden without wasting much time or effort.
Here are some of the plants which can give your garden a stunning and pleasing look.
- You can start by introducing flowers such as Ivy, philodendrons and Shamrocks which are all very easy to grow and add vibrance to your place. You can also think of introducing English Daisies and Mulberries for rock gardens, bed or border edging as well as for window and balcony boxes.
- It is a good idea to plant vegetables in your garden so that you have access to fresh food and can also save money. For example you can grow tomatoes, potatoes, lettuces and many other vegetables in your garden. Lettuces can be cooked or used in soup and tomatoes and potatoes are the main ingredient of any meal.
- You can also think of having Tropical plants in the garden, thereby giving your house a much needed sense of diversity. Palms and trees can give your house a lovely look and transform it to a little beach cottage you have always dreamt of. Ficus trees can also be planted in the garden.
- Another great idea would be to think of meadow gardening. Although a meadow generally peaks in summer, but you can add plants which prolong or thrive in any season (spring, early autumn etc). For example you can have crocus, wild daffodils, snake’s head fritillaries and the lovely tulips. Early summer bulbs which can be introduced are “starry-flowered quamash”.
- Herbs such as rosemary, thyme, oregano, parsley, mint and chives are great things to have in your home. These herbs are not only good to look at, but can also heal wounds, burns, cuts or irritations. It is also a good idea to spice up your winter cooking with fresh and tasty herbs.
