Remodeling your bathroom can give your home a new, refreshing and invigorating look. A neat and well kept bathroom soothes your jangled nerves after coming back home from a hectic day of work, shopping or weekend trips. There are enough types of fixtures and accessories available to give your bathroom a luxurious and stylish look and there is no dearth of ideas to make use of limited spaces to the maximum. But before zeroing to any idea always weigh the pros and cons carefully.

Here are a number of tips that can restore the beauty of your bathroom and make it a desirable place to visit and relax.

  1. Redecorating your bathroom using a beach theme could be a good idea. You can paint the walls with light blue color and use matching towels, shower curtains and drapes and go in for a window treatment that has some light woody tone to it. You can also decorate the walls with photographs of actual beach. Adding beach shells or jars of beach glass will give you an outdoor feel.
  2. If you live in a rented apartment and don’t want to invest much in remodeling the bathroom then you can purchase accessories and fixtures to complement your bathroom than repainting it. A lot of things can gel perfectly with the white or neutral color. You can use light green curtains and introduce a plant (whether natural or fake) to give your bathroom a natural and refreshing look.
  3. The most important thing to keep in mind is the decoration or repair of the bath tub and tub/shower combination. You can use pre-fabricated acrylic or fiber glass shower/tub. It is also advisable to install a bathtub liner to protect it from cracks, stains and discoloring. Look out for styles that add drama and vigor at affordable prices. Make sure to avoid buying any unit that occupies too much of space, thus giving your bathroom a cramp and cluttered look.
  4. While thinking about changing the flooring, weigh all the options cautiously because you cannot use just any type of flooring in the bathroom. The most sought after options include ceramic tiles, engineered flooring and laminate flooring.  Hardwood flooring looks attractive and great but make sure that it is carefully installed with no cleavages for moisture. Oak and Pine are the most liked ones.
  5. Illuminate your bathroom using bulbs or eye catching lampshades. Proper lighting makes your bathroom look bright and cheerful. Lastly, always make sure that the electrical appliances such as geezer, hand shower, hair dryer etc are properly insulated. Always give utmost attention to the electrical connections and fixtures inside your bathroom.

All the above ideas can be kept in mind before thinking about remodeling the bathroom. Try keeping your bathroom simple, neat and clutter-free. After all, simplicity always appeals to everybody’s heart.
