It definitely requires intelligence and loads of effort so that your apartment adorns a new and off-beaten look. Every one wants their home to look beautiful and exciting so that it can make your life more comfortable and soothing.
Moreover, it is a well known fact that your home is a reflection of your personality and everybody wants to put forth the best aspect of their personality in front of the onlooker.
Designing a dream home can be an expensive affair but the following ideas can be kept in mind in order to redecorate your home in the best affordable prices:
- Firstly decide the look that you want to give to your home. It can either be traditional, rustic, warm, soothing or a loud one. You can start by reading magazines and watching television programs related to home decors. Don’t create a ‘circus atmosphere’ by using too many designs or patterns. After all it is just your home and not a movie set.
- Select or choose three and four of your favorite colors and use them throughout to paint the walls of your place. If you use too many different colors then your place might seem visually distracting and broken. You can either use similar shades or go for contrasts but make sure that everything gels with one another. These days an array of paints and colors are available in all kinds of ranges to choose from.
- Letting in natural light is the key to give your home an open and airy feeling but it is also important to keep the noise away. So you need to decide on the type of glasses to be put inside your place. For example you can choose either dark ones or double glazed windows depending on the budget and your likings. You can save money on curtains by buying fabrics and sheets which not only make good curtains but are of great quality as well.
- You can always get tempted to buy expensive stuff to redecorate your place but such a purchase could burn a hole in your pocket and you will not be able to have a filling feeling inside your house. A better option would be to look for Church markets, junk malls and flea markets. These places have an array of beautiful and affordable items and you might even end up buying unique stuff for your place without having to spend a fortune. Emphasize on the quality and not on the quantity.
- Finally, it’s your own home and so it is very important for you to introduce some items that are yours alone. You can have photo collages, antique collections and your art & craft hangings on the walls. This would not only add a personal touch to your home but would also increase the vibrancy and warmth.
With the above mentioned tips you can turn your old fashioned or shabby looking home into a lively, refreshing and comfortable place to live in. After all, “Home is where the heart is!”
